This Avaya IP Office dual ISDN-PRI daughter card can be added to an IP500 DS8 card, IP500 Analog Phone (2 or 8 port) card, or IP500 VCM card. It then allows that card to also support two T1, E1 or E1R2 trunk connections. Does not support E1R2 COAX. This card supports 2 physical ports and when configured as T1, supports 48 digital channels; or when configured as E1, supports 60 channels. Not compatible with the IP412.

On each card, 16 channels, 8 per interface, are enabled by default (this configuration from new cannot be changed, i.e. you cannot have all 16 channels from new on one interface/circuit). Further channels may be enabled by the purchase of additional licenses in 2 channel 8 channel or 22 channel increments. Up to 4 Universal PRI cards (either single or dual) can be installed in any combination in the IP500 chassis for a maximum capacity of 8 T1 E1s. IP500 daughter trunk cards can be fitted to existing IP500 base cards to provide support for trunk ports. The daughter card uses the ports provided on the base card for cable connection. The addition of an IP500 daughter trunk card is supported on IP500 Digital Station, IP500 Analog Phone and IP500 VCM base cards. For those base cards that support daughter cards, there are no restrictions on the combination of card types. However in systems with both Analog Phone 8 base cards and analog trunk daughter cards, combining both types is recommended as it then provides analog power failure support for 1 trunk or extension (Not applicable to the Analog Phone 2 base card).
